Daniel joins JGV from a long and successful career in Hedge Fund management. He began his career at American Express Tax and Business Services (GGK LLP) where he spent a little over two years in their Financial Services practice auditing hedge funds. From there, he joined ING Furman Selz Asset Management (IFSAM) where he was responsible for the accounting and oversight of a number of IFSAM's internal hedge funds. In 2003, Daniel joined JANA Partners LLC (JANA), a SEC Registered Investment Advisor managing a number of Event Driven hedge funds as well as a number of managed accounts for institutional investors. Daniel spent close to eight years at JANA Partners and most recently as a Partner and Chief Operating Officer. During that period, as the fund grew from $600mm in assets under management to ultimately in excess of $8.5bn, Daniel successfully built out a highly scalable infrastructure to handle JANA's explosive growth and oversaw much of the business related activities of the firm both in the US as well as abroad.
In 2013 Daniel formed together with Harbor Group International (HGI), an Investment Manager managing close to $4bn of Real Estate, Daniel and HGI successfully launched a long/short equity fund focused on real estate securities. Daniel served as a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer in its formative years.
Daniel is a licensed (inactive) CPA in New York State and has been a member of the New York State Society of CPA's (NYSSCPA), American Institute of CPA's and has sat on the Investment Management Committee for the NYSSCPA. Additionally, Daniel has served on an Advisory Board for the Sy Syms School of Business as well as on the boards of a number of charities and institutions both in Israel and the US. Daniel has also spoken at a number of Investment Management industry conferences.
Daniel is a graduate of the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University.
